Overview

The paper summarizes the developing trend of Wikipedia which is one of important Internet application using current revision data set. It models the process of mass collaboration in Wikipedia using power distribution, namely Pareto distribution. This model suggests that the majority of edits in Wikipedia is contributed by a small group of people, while most participants in Wikipedia only give minor contributions. Additionally, authors use maximum likelihood to formulate an equation to predict future development trend of Wikipedia.
