This paper proposes a semantic [[relatedness]] measure based on [[Wikipedia]] structure: WikiStruRel(WSR).Nowadays,Wikipedia is the largest and the fastest-growing online encyclopedia, consisting of two net-like structures: an article referenced network and a category tree(actually a tree-like graph),which include lots of explicitly defined [[semantic information]].WSR explicitly analyzes the article referenced network and the category tree from Wikipedia and computes semantic relatedness between words. While WSR achieves effective accuracy and large coverage by testing on three common datasets, the measure doesn't have to deal with text, resulting in low cost.

Overview

This paper proposes a semantic relatedness measure based on Wikipedia structure: WikiStruRel(WSR).Nowadays,Wikipedia is the largest and the fastest-growing online encyclopedia, consisting of two net-like structures: an article referenced network and a category tree(actually a tree-like graph),which include lots of explicitly defined semantic information.WSR explicitly analyzes the article referenced network and the category tree from Wikipedia and computes semantic relatedness between words. While WSR achieves effective accuracy and large coverage by testing on three common datasets, the measure doesn't have to deal with text, resulting in low cost.
