Encyclopedias constitute one of the information resources for researchers to draw upon in their studies. So with the emergence of the web and the shift towards digital resources in researchers’ information-seeking behavior [4] and emergence of [[Wikipedia]], researchers use it and contribute to it. So it is possible a relation between Wikipedia size in a language and science production in Corresponding country. In this paper authors test this correlation for 50 top countries in science production, and after that a linear model of relation present. The results show a high correlation between two variables. Authors can say that more Wikipedia's pages lead to more scientific documents in each country. The high value of R2 also show the relation. The Estimated coefficient for Iran show that doubling Persian Wikipedia size will lead to 32 % increase in science production.

Overview

Encyclopedias constitute one of the information resources for researchers to draw upon in their studies. So with the emergence of the web and the shift towards digital resources in researchers’ information-seeking behavior [4] and emergence of Wikipedia, researchers use it and contribute to it.
