Overview
“Who is responsible for what” in organizations where there is no formal organizational chart? To explore this issue, the article focuses on the famous online encyclopedia Wikipedia, considering it as an organizing process (Weick, 1980) constituted through communication. On Wikipedia, decisions are made but nobody has a formal mandate to achieve them. Decisions thus results from negotiations between contributors.
